After completing my undergraduate studies in English Literature at Petra Christian University, I tried to get theological study at a seminary in Bandung, West Java. However, it didn’t work well because I had to get married. Then, I began my career as an English private tutor in 2006. Somehow, I was offered the position of part-time English teacher in elementary and junior high schools in west Surabaya. After that, I applied for a job as an English teacher at Petra 1 Christian Senior High School in West Surabaya in 2013. I only taught there for one year because I had an opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) at Widya Mandala Catholic University from 2012 to 2014. Then, during my postgraduate studies, I was offered to teach nursing students at Dharma Husada Nursing Academy (in Kediri, East Java) where I taught English for Specific Purpose until 2020. For my residence in Surabaya, I could not commute to Kediri any longer because of pandemic

Moreover, I have been an adjunct lecturer at Widya Kartika University since 2018. I have taught the students from the English Department, both regular and professional classes. The professional class is for the students who work in the morning and have a class in the evening to get their undergraduate degree. My teaching focuses on the four core skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. The English department has tried implementing the Cambridge curriculum, teaching levels A2, B1, B2, and C1. I have been involved in preparing students with foundational English language skills in four semesters before they acquire literature and linguistics courses. Furthermore, I also teach at Ciputra University, Surabaya, where I instructed 7th-semester students of Food Technology major. My primary focus was to equip students with the proficiency to use English professionally in their academic and future careers.

Among those roles in higher education, I have also worked as a private English tutor for children from elementary until senor high school students Every week, I teach 20-25 students, from various schools in Surabaya and Sidoarjo, online and offline as their English private tutor. Because of that, I am always exposed to diverse curricula, including the Cambridge and International Baccalaureate curricula.

With over a decade of experience in the field of education, I am deeply committed to fostering learning and advancing the English proficiency of my students. My strong passion for education continues to drive my professional aspirations, and my enthusiasm for language learning motivates me to keep growing and contributing to this field.
